Alfresco
Alfresco. 12" x 10", watermedia on canvas on panel. Currently on the easel, and not yet finished - this fine fellow still needs his mane, and the background and grasses need to be completed. A dappled white Shire horse, enjoying a lovely afternoon munch on a crisp and clear fall day.
I had a delightful note from an Oatlands collector - thank you!

A fine day
Just learned that "The Emperor" - whose portrait was the very first one featured in this Weblog adventure - was among three of this artist's pieces sold at the "Art at the Mill" juried show, Burwell-Morgan Mill, Millwood, Virginia, this month. Many thanks indeed to the collectors who have welcomed these paintings into their homes.
My sincere appreciation also to the collectors who sought out my work at the "Four Seasons of Oatlands" juried show, Oatlands Plantation, Leesburg, Virginia, this summer. It is an honor indeed when someone likes one's work enough to want more of it. Thank you!

Nebuchadnezzar
Nebuchadnezzar. 8" x 10", watermedia on canvas on panel. This fine fellow has no idea he isn't the handsomest bird in the world. He's from Kidwell Farm in Herndon, Virginia, where the "Presidential turkey" retires every year after receiving his pardon. I don't know whether this kingly bird is a White House model, but he certainly looks accustomed to ruling the roost.
